Re: What happens when the President disregards the Judge's ordes - Tiangou - 03-16-2025 They could arrest Rubio. Re: What happens when the President disregards the Judge's ordes - pdq - 03-16-2025 Well, ICE is now trying to meet Trump’s expected quotas. From the link in the OP: The agenda has so far not met expectations, with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents not meeting Trump's daily quota for arrests. Two of Trump’s top ICE staff have already gotten “reassigned” for not making the numbers Trump wants. A recent report suggested ICE agents had deported fewer immigrants in February than they had the same month a year prior during the previous administration under Joe Biden - 11,000 in February 2025, compared to 12,000 in February 2024 - according to NBC News. From another recent BBC article about this deportation: Trump did not lay out how US officials would determine that a person is a member of the violent, transnational gang in the proclamation. That’s pretty obvious. I think we'd start seeing large demonstrations and civil disobediance all across the country. And multiple impeachments if the 2026 election is good for the Dems. Like, being a “terrorist”? I read a lot of stuff, and I don’t recall if this was in an opinion piece or straight up reporting. It was in the context of sending illegal immigrants there to await deportation. I’ll look. And no, I won’t give cfdt the importance that capitalization implies. He brought it up, and as this is a hot button for me, I let him know my thoughts. I don’t care who you are, once you reach these shores due process is to be followed. Rushed justice, as we all know, is no justice. Re: What happens when the President disregards the Judge's ordes - pdq - 03-16-2025 Actually, good news and bad news. Turns out Guantanamo no longer contains immigrants. The bad news is that it was basically just a cruelty-porn photo-op by Trump, who I’m sure won’t hesitate to do it again if he feels the need to throw more bloody meat to his deplorable base. |
