The Senate version of President Donald Trump’s agenda bill would leave 11.8 million more people without health insurance in 2034, according to a Congressional Budget Office analysis released today.
That’s more than the 10.9 million more people projected to be left uninsured by the House-passed version of the bill.
Both chambers are calling for historic spending cuts to Medicaid, which provides coverage to more than 71 million low-income Americans, including children, senior citizens, people with disabilities and other adults. The package would also enact changes to the Affordable Care Act that are projected to reduce enrollment in the landmark health reform law that Trump and Republicans have long sought to dismantle.
But the Senate version calls for even deeper cuts to the Medicaid, leading to the larger estimate.

And, since they won’t have preventive care, more people will be using the ER and we all know that’s the least expensive option.

There is much to hate in this bill but the Medicaid cuts are simply immoral and make no sense.
One of my Mom's caregivers is expecting. The agency she works for offers crap health insurance that does not cover prenatal care or hospital stays. So she is on Medicaid, and thank goodness for that. She works 40 hours a week at a crucial job. The agency pays her $16 an hour and charges us $32 an hour. Her husband is a mechanic and works full time, also low wage. Also crap insurance at his job, no coverage for dependents.
So their baby will also need Medicaid.
There is a misperception out there that people getting assistance do not work. It's our system that does not work. We taxpayers subsidize these highly profitable businesses (home health agencies in our state rake in 30% profit on average) who pay crap wages and offer crap benefits, so we pick up the slack with government assistance for health care, groceries, sometimes housing.
Now politicians want to take those away from hard working people who cannot afford the basics. To offset tax cuts for Jeff Bezos.
And people wonder why Mandami is so popular? He gives a shit about people. These people on Congress do not.
