Dog is a murderer - cbelt3 - 07-09-2025

My Siberian Husky / beagle mutt has been very interested in goings on under our deck. I assumed she was pestering the chipmunks who infest our yard. It was not.

( how I do a spoiler ?)

Yep. She caught another young rabbit. And played with it until it stoped squeaking. And then repeatedly shook it and tossed it into the air. And much to my annoyance… ate the whole damn critter , head first. Sheesh. Have to watch out for worms et al.

Dumb bunnies…

The sound of a bunny screaming is pretty much the same as a newborn baby. Gave me chills first time I heard one!

Thank you for sharing.

Do you have any stories about dogs killing feral kittens?

That sounds like fun.

Then again 30 years ago I lived with a guy who owned a wolf.

My dog stomped a mouse to death once.

FYI she is very respectful of our cats. Actually kind of afraid of them.

My dog squeezed a rabbit and that shriek is blood curdling. But so many bunnies here that i can't get overly teary eyed over a death - and esp if they eat it.

And, yes, bunnies are very dumb.

we live across from acres of empty fields -- filled with cows and coyotes... and of course every other small animal known to man.

oldest male cat brings in birds, mice (some big!) snakes and once a bunny... smaller cat brings lizards in on the daily... most die.

is what it is?

We have Wabbits that run across our yard ...

... and we have hawks that live in the oak trees.

Sometimes the Wabbits are fast enough, sometimes not.
