Think colleges are mostly immune from Trump. Think again. - Speedy - 07-12-2025

Trump’s weapon is attacking colleges by taking away their accreditation.  Well worth a read.

President Donald Trump and his allies are using a little-known but powerful corner of higher education — college accreditation — to exert pressure on colleges and universities, an effort that threatens the independence of accreditors and the stability of the institutions they approve.

It goes without saying that this has nothing to do with accreditation.

Yep, not in the traditional sense.  But this is how they plan to enforce their ideology on all those elites with college degrees, or at least their offspring and the institutions they attend.

No, I don't. - RAMd®d - 07-12-2025

At this rate, most clear thinking people no longer believe anything is mostly immune to CFDT.

Laws?

Pish Tosh.

Those are for poor Republicans and all Dems.

I remember when the cool kids love to brag 'laws are made to be broken'.

Now it's 'laws are made to be ignored if you're rich and a Republican'.

Even being rich isn't necessarily a shield, if one doesn't genuflect and kiss the ring.

So, no, I don't think anything is mostly immune, and on most days I don't things most things are immune at all.

I wonder how many SCOTUS justices went to Harvard (or Columbia). I suppose Yale is next.

Florida is establishing its own accreditation agency due to the current one's criticizing the politicization by DeSantis and the GOP legislature.
