What do you use to clean an LCD screen without leaving a film? - tahoedrew - 04-25-2007 I now have a number of LCD panels in my house and need to find the best way to clean an LCD panel CLEAR. While I don't go putting my fingers on the panel on purpose, there are always intermittent greasy finger marks (like when I tried to massage a stuck pixel from my LCD tv). When you clean an LCD screen with windex it leaves a slight film on the panel. So is there a better liquid solution? ~A Re: What do you use to clean an LCD screen without leaving a film? - jeffNOTjon - 04-25-2007 iKlear http://www.klearscreen.com/iKlear.aspx Re: What do you use to clean an LCD screen without leaving a film? - M A V I C - 04-25-2007 iKlear http://eshop.macsales.com/search/iklear Re: What do you use to clean an LCD screen without leaving a film? - JoeH - 04-25-2007 Don't use Windex, the alcohol and ammonia in the mix will attack the surface of the screen leaving a haze. A micro-fiber wipe moistened with plain water will take care of most crud on the screen surface. If it really gets dirty, a dilute dishwash soap wipe followed by a plain water wipe to remove any residue is usually enough to clean the surface. Re: What do you use to clean an LCD screen without leaving a film? - mikebw - 04-25-2007 You know I have tried those wipes - http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Klear%20Screen/KSSP6K10/ but they always leave streaks on the screen. They do clean off the fingerprints and such, but I haven't been able to get the screen as clean looking as it was when new. (This is a DELL 2005FPW, by the way). Buff the screen with that. I use it on my 2405, & powerbooks, works great. Re: What do you use to clean an LCD screen without leaving a film? - john dough - 04-25-2007 I was at MacWorld SF in 2004 and I saw a demo of this: http://www.radtech.us/Products/OmniCleanz.aspx and I immediately bought a case for resale to my clients. They demonstrated their cleaner against a few others on the market (not sure if iKlear was there), and all but the OmniCleanz left residue. This stuff cleans screens better than anything I have seen. No, I don't have anything to gain by saying these things (although I wish I did), it is just this stuff works and I don't have to think about it. People swear by iKlear, but this stuff is great and it keeps all my screens as clear as new.
