More Global Warming Disclaimer - spearmint - 05-28-2007

It has not increased since 1998 and is a natural cycle.

"The same purity can't be applied to Inhofe, a long-time magnet for pro-polluter special interests. Since joining the Congress in 1994, Inhofe has accepted over a million dollars from the energy and natural resource sector, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. In the 2002 election, Inhofe received more money from big oil and gas companies than any other senator except Texas' John Cornyn. In return, big energy received a senator who's earned a zero rating from the League of Conservation Voters on six different occasions.

"Our door is open," Inhofe assured energy lobbyists upset over the Clean Air Act in 1998. "I'll sit down with you personally." He's kept his word. "Energy lobbyists are coming and going like a revolving door through the staff offices of EPW," Frank O'Donnell of Clean Air Watch told Grist magazine."

"SENATOR INHOFE OPENING STATEMENT"

http://thinkprogress.org/2006/11/17/inhofe-hoax/

The senator is not a credible source, 'Mint.

So the Senator never talked to Scientists? Lot of non-believers out there. The Sky is Not Falling.

Re: More Global Warming Disclaimer - voodoopenguin - 05-28-2007

I'm certain that the Senator talked to scientists but as can be seen from the many discussions on this forum there are scientists who espouse views that are different to those of other scientists. I have to admit that I probably haven't researched every link you have given to scientists and others who have the same view that you do but the ones I have checked or have been checked by others do seem to often come from a background that could be construed as having bias e.g. the oil industry. Please feel free to show me the error of this perception by pointing to an unbiased source as although my personal belief is at present different to your view I am always open to change if the facts are presented to me.

It could be said that those who say that global warming is being brought about by man's activity could also be bias but I'm not sure what the gain would be for them. If it's just publicity then the same argument works for both sides.

I also do understand the conflict of interest at a personal level as can be seen from my current signature picture. I never got more than 15 mpg out of it which I believe is more like12-13 for the US!

I think you're having more flashbacks.

When I was a young'un I flew out to SF to get a quantity of LSD. Got to the source, Owsley. Selling me a bunch from the frig he spilled a dozen or so under the refrigerator. He did not care. I wanted to recruit people to help me lift it up but he laughed at me. Stuff was 100% pure and a nice mellow ride if you only took one. The problem with LSD and most other mood altering stuff is overdoing it. I loved LSD and would jump at the chance to do one of the good stuff even at my senior citizenship. You would have to have to been there to know.

Come on people! Isn't it obvious that we all need to become pirates to keep global warming at bay?
