I sent an email to a CL seller... - incognegro - 06-13-2007 Saw an iBook on Craigslist. This was my email to the seller: Is the iBook sold? The reply: Susan Leaf wrote: Hello They don't really read the emails they get, do they? Re: I sent an email to a CL seller... - mikebw - 06-13-2007 Well, did you mention Wolverhampton first and they just copied that from you or what? Re: I sent an email to a CL seller... - blusubaru - 06-13-2007 HAHA! I replied to the same ad, but here in Indianapolis. Which one did you do? Hello My reply was simply, "Nah, send it C.O.D." Re: I sent an email to a CL seller... - incognegro - 06-13-2007 I sent Wolverhampton first. This "Susan Leaf" person (has gone under other names) always seems to use the same location, so since the deal looked like it might be a scam, I put that in to see if they wouldn't write back, but they did anyway. Re: I sent an email to a CL seller... - mikebw - 06-13-2007 hmm, I guess they have their story and are sticking to it. Re: I sent an email to a CL seller... - ho'ard - 06-13-2007 In all likelihood there's a non-english speaking person reading and responding with canned text. Re: I sent an email to a CL seller... - lafinfil - 06-13-2007 Ahhh Susan - been a few month since I "chatted" with her Re: I sent an email to a CL seller... - Racer X - 06-13-2007 I did more than just "chat her up"..... Re: I sent an email to a CL seller... - SLM - 06-13-2007 Yeah, I got that one too... the dead giveaway was the initial ad had a mac book pro box in the image the email had another, correct box but the iSight had vanished, was suspicious from the get go, when she emailed me back I was tempted (as I have friends in the vicinity) to go for the wind-up. |
