YouTube being added to FrontRow, too? (REDUX) - Jem - 06-21-2007

Now that it appears that YouTube has been added to AppleTV (see link a few below this one), is there any further word on whether this will be added to Front Row, too.

I didn't see any new downloads for it over at Apple.

Perhaps it was rolled in to the 10.4.10 updates? If anyone finds evidence of this working on non- AppleTV Apple devices, please post!

It doesn't seem to be reflected in my 10.4.10 update.

On a related note -- YouTube clips are notoriously poor quality--how does that reflect on AppleTV?

they just announced that youtube would be starting to encode in h264 for higher quality across the board, I think. I'm sure there's a press release here somewhere....

If you want YouTube in a slick (and higher quality) format, get an Apple TV or iPhone. On your computer, go to www.youtube.com.

YouTube on Apple TV is a different experience--very slick, fast interface and significantly better video quality. It's also more enjoyable just because you're watching video where it was meant to be watched--on your TV.

I think you've misinterpreted the meaning of that press release. On your computer, YouTube videos will continue to be available in crappy Flash format only.
