Keep Oscar the cat away from me! - AlphaDog - 07-25-2007 He apparently cuddles up only to people who die within a few hours. ![]() http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070725/D8QJRTNG1.html Re: Keep Oscar the cat away from me! - cbelt3 - 07-25-2007 I was tempted to post the old 'floor cleaner kills patient in intensive care every Sunday at 11" story, but snopes tells me that it is bunkum. Sniff. That was one of my more favourite "Don't make assumptions" stories to tell young Engineering School kids. Sniff. That was one of my more favourite "Don't make assumptions" stories to tell young Engineering School kids. Don't ya hate it when they take away all the fun? Re: Keep Oscar the cat away from me! - cbelt3 - 07-26-2007 It's OK. I can still use the story of the development computer that kept failing at random times, but only during the week. One of the engineers had brought in an old industrial strength cofee maker, and plugged it into the same breaker circuit. Every time we pressed 'brew' the initial current draw caused a mini-brownout, which took the computer down. My other favourite is the people who ran instrumentation low voltage lines. Buried them 2 meters underground. And the wiring run ran under a high voltage transmission tower. They didn't understand why they kept frying intstrumentation. When I lit a neon lamp from the coupled voltage off the bare wires, they got it. Re: Keep Oscar the cat away from me! - Paul F. - 07-26-2007 I read that story on Yahoo news a few hours ago..... I think poor Oscar is going to find doors slammed in his face a lot more often than he used to. Poor kitty may not have a pillow to sleep on any more! Re: Keep Oscar the cat away from me! - Paul F. - 07-26-2007 I was just reminded of the short lived TV series "Dead Like Me"... Maybe Oscar is a reincarnated soul... a Grim Reaper there to take souls at the moment of death. But where would he keep his post-it notes? Re: Keep Oscar the cat away from me! - OWC Jamie - 07-26-2007 Um, that's not exactly a maternity ward Oscar's in. Same team had "Wonder Falls" on FOX, which of course blew that one too...... |
