So what are the plans for a NEW iSight? - pokari - 07-29-2007 I haven't heard even a rumble about what is going to take place. Anybody else? They are so insanely priced on eBay( unless I was the one selling it ![]() pokari Re: So what are the plans for a NEW iSight? - Ken Sp. - 07-29-2007 Many USB cameras work if you are running recent versions of OSX 10.4.X. I would imagine some sort of iSight Built into the monitors, and maybe a stand alone USB iSight. Re: So what are the plans for a NEW iSight? - Carnos Jax - 07-29-2007 Camcorders w/a FireWire connection also work (w/hella good image quality to boot, probably every bit as good as the iSight...even better), don't they? Much, much, much Better! BGnR Re: So what are the plans for a NEW iSight? - raz - 07-29-2007 I just picked up the Logitech QuickCam 5000 at Circuit City for $30 AR, and it worked fine out of the box with 10.4.10. Make sure it says 'RightLight2' (the 2 is important). Re: So what are the plans for a NEW iSight? - comaplate - 07-29-2007 Apple's plan: Go out and buy one of the new machines equipped with a built in iSight. (Note: this may conflict with your wallet) Re: So what are the plans for a NEW iSight? - mrbigstuff - 07-29-2007 The only thing about camcorders besides the obvious physical differences in set-up is that they "time out" after some while. The solution is to use a tape to "record" the session, but just keep re-recording the session (IOW, have only one tape). Hint for the day. Hint for the day. Thank You 3Prong!! I get so tired of posting the correction to that myth! BGnR Amazing how many folks can't read manuals! Re: So what are the plans for a NEW iSight? - chas_m - 07-29-2007 I keep hoping Apple will come out with a cross-platform USB2 iSight cam, but perhaps they've just dropped the idea.* *it should be noted that the built-in iSights are all, and have been for some years now, USB2. |
