Anything out there that will open a .dpa file on a mac? - ho'ard - 08-22-2007

Google reveals that it's a "Serif Draw" file or some such.
Graphic Converter chewed on it and spit it out.
I received it at a seminar I went to, and it would be useful for a presentation tomorrow.
The people who produced it gave it to all the attendees, and looked back blankly when asked if any special software was needed to open it.
Thanks for any leads.

I think the "seminar" you went to might have been a sales pitch for their graphics layout software. I would guess that the only way you can open it with a Mac graphics program is to have DrawPlus and export it in a compatible format. Got $100 and a computer that can run Windows programs?

Naw, they're physical therapy types, they just don't know any better (and probably don't care).
Would an average PC have something on it that could open this 120 MB file? Am I the first person ever to go home and try to read it?

The Serif.com website does not give me the impression that anything else will read their format. Do you have Illustrator or anything close to that? You can try renaming it with extensions of different types of vector files and see if anything will import it.

Thanks, gave up on it and put it away already. But thanks.

A .dpa file contains keyframe animation sequences. According to the manual for DrawPlus, it is a proprietary file format that needs to be exported before other programs can view it.

You may, however, be able to snag something using FileJuicer.

*sigh* I downloaded filejuicer, and am getting an error "The disk image failed to mount [number string]".
Seems like a darned handy app to have around.

'Sounds like an incomplete download.

I'd trash the .dmg file and download it again. Watch your browser's Downloads window to make sure that the whole thing comes down with no errors.

yeah, I tried several times, and watched the d/l bar each time, thanks.

Tried it again, no problems. Too hot to go downstairs for the CD, but I'll let you know . . .
