who are the moderators? - space-time - 09-30-2007

From what have read lately, I think lafinfil and rgG are moderators on this forums. Is that so, and is they any other moderators?

LOL!
Not laughing at you S-T!
Just that the whole idea of "Secret" admins/mods is a very bad idea.
That is what brought down the last forum.
Yes, forums need policing, but not in secret.

I think the two you have mentioned have been very open about their status as mods.

Re: who are the moderators? - rgG - 09-30-2007

space-time,

lafinfil and I are mods. There are also two other mods who have chosen not to use their regular nicks for modding purposes. Since this job is totally voluntary, if someone is asked to be a mod, but chooses not to make that position public, they are allowed to do so.

There is nothing sub-rosa about this, they just want to be able to interact within the forum as they always have without the stigma of being the "hall monitor", if you will. I can understand this completely and, fully support their decision.

Since there are two mods that are known to everyone, you always have two people you can PM directly, or you can simply use the "report this message" function and all four mods and mrp-admin will get the report.

HTH

Edited for grammatical clarification.

What one are you referring to?

I'm a moderator* here.

*Well, sort of. It's the best type of moderation really. Self-moderation. I just think "what rules did I agree to when I signed up here? does what I'm about to post violate them at all?"

Wow! That's more protection than our ports get from the government.

space-time is a mod but didn't know it? Wow, that seems too secret for me.

:-)

Yes.... they have. Lafinfil, on the other hand, has not been all that forthcoming about his transvestite terrorist persona, but then, not that many people have been seriously hurt when he throws a hissy fit and starts hurling latex butt gear at students in Lafayette.

I think most of the students just think it is some kind of adult store give-away.

Re: who are the moderators? - RgrF - 09-30-2007

Every once in a while (usually on a weekend) someone kicks Jimmy in the head. This creates one of those rare moments of clarity when Jimmy acknowleges that living in a flyover state has it's limitations.

This moment of clarity, usually followed by a day or two of unconsciousness, allows him to later appear in public, seem almost normal and exhibit no embarrasment while once again testifying under oath that his friend, Phil, didn't do whatever it was they said he did and wouldn't know one end of a gun from another.

Jimmy says he expects to do his first music video next month. He's already listed at number 56 and rising by Billboard and hopes to cut his first song by the end of the week.
