I for one, am outraged!

I'm going back to OS 8.6, where all my utilities work!

Geez, is every problem with Leopard going to be dismissed as whining? Not being able to run Disk Warrior would be quite a bad thing for anyone unlucky enough to run into disk problems shortly after going Spotted.

I made it a policy not to upgrade to 10.4 until I had a decent working version of diskwarrior.

With Leopard and time machine, I suspect it may be less of an issue.

Nevertheless, I always recommend caution with mission-critical computers and new (or even incremental) OS updates.

I took this to be a fresh reminder to consider 10.5.0 to definitely be a work in progress.

hard to imagine, given that Alsoft probably doesn't have the final version of Leopard yet.

That's what I was thinking. I have seen other software developers already advertising their products are Leopard compatible.

If you take a good look at those apps, you'll find that they don't manipulate the system the way Diskwarior does. If Leopard has made any changes to the underlying file system I would be wary of running any disk utility other than Apple's own Disk Utility.

Good point, richolin.

One should never, ever, run apps such as DW on a system unless the software developer states that they support that system. It should be a given that DW wont run on Leopard unless they say it does.
