Im back in school and every so often I mis a class & the important lecture notes. I was wondering if ther were such a handhed scanner that I could use to swipe (scan) a friends notes without having to hand copy them?

Anyone know of such a thing?

I believe they are called "Xerox" machines.

They usually can be found at libraries and grocery store and cost about $.10 per page to make copies.

they do have those handheld "pen sized" scanners that will scan one line of text at a time. However I'm guessing the ocr would be a mess on hanwriting. If you have a laptop, those canon usb bus powered scanners are thin, light and cheap. Perfect for taking to the library.

This one from HP is pretty decent for that. HP4670. You don't even need to use the base, just the clear part (has the scanner built into it). Just put the paper on a flat surface and put the scanner down on top of it.

Hp had agreat one called the Capshare that they discontined long time ago. . .now they are rare and going for big bucks on Ebay. . .
I have one. . .great scanner. . .it can only be plugged into a PC but that is if you want to convert it to a pdf. . .

It has a IR port so I usually just send it to print on my HP5mp printer. . .if you can find one and afford it. . .get one

HP CApshare 910 is what I have but the made one further version before it was discontinued. . .

Amazon has an old listing if you wanna see what it looks like
