Best new animated character in years - DaviDC. - 11-29-2007

Puss & Boots from Shrek has got to be one of the funniest animated characters in recent years.

We were talking about Shrek the Halls (last night on ABC) at work today & everyone who saw it admitted to laughing out loud when Puss said he had shamed himself.

Gingie's take on the Night Before Christmas wasn't bad either!

I love the Puss character. especially the huge eyes, and when he gets caught cleaning his catbutt.

The licking himself is a little icky. I can't help but think of him as antonio. He is funny though. kj.

I loved the part where he was watching the little furry ball on the end of the Santa hat and then you see him doing his "all four feet thing" to the Christmas ornament. Then he says, "I have shamed myself". I also liked when he first came in and said, "OK, I will assume the position," and he let all the children abuse him, just like a bunch of kids would.

Whoever writes the part for Puss-N-Boots has to have had cats. They have a cat's behavior down perfectly.

Take him or leave him......I like the Gingerbread man.

I was pleasently surprised by Shrek The Halls though. It was great that they didnt really cheese out on the animation and it had al the real stars instead of stand ins. As much as I like Dan Castelanetta, Homer Simpson is not the Genie in Alladin.

IIRC, Antonio chose the role of Puss because he has little children, and they love him playing the part.

Shrek the Halls had Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses, so that's a plus.

(some people think it's the Bangles or Go-Gos)

i'm fond of Father Christmas by the Kinks, The Winter Song by Angel, and Christmas on the Block by Alan Mann.

I thought they did an excellent job of Shrek the Halls. Puss was very good. What was it he said, " I'll assume the position" ?
