Re: Apple Store chock full of refurbs again - AAA - 12-06-2007 well, the iPod section is slim pickings... I just peeked. Re: Apple Store chock full of refurbs again - mikebw - 12-06-2007 You know, if these had been the prices a few years ago I would be all over it. But I think I have come to realize that I am a hardened penny-pincher, and even such great deals as these can't sway me to give up my G5. Perhaps I am not convinced of the performance benefits, I mean 2GHz C2D is faster than a Dual 2.0GHz G5 right? And I like being able to stick a bunch of drives in a tower too. I guess the G5 is just the right machine for me, at least for now. A MacBook would be really nice to have though... Re: Apple Store chock full of refurbs again - Panopticon - 12-06-2007 The only $799 MacBook I see is not C2D, just CD... 1.83 GHz Intel Core2 Duo, Combo drive, 60 GB 5400 rpm hard drive, 512 MB RAM, Intel 950 graphics, built-in iSight. Re: Apple Store chock full of refurbs again - TLB - 12-06-2007 I've been waiting for the 20" iMac 2.16GHz to come back or the Al iMac low end to show up. I got tired of waiting and bought a 17" yesterday. Today, nearly every model is there. C'est la vie. Re: Apple Store chock full of refurbs again - mikebw - 12-06-2007 The 17" iMac sure it tempting, but I am so used to a 20" screen now, I don't think I could easily go back. Maybe as a secondary computer, like in the kitchen or something a smaller size would be better. Re: Apple Store chock full of refurbs again - spearmint - 12-06-2007 Slept till six today. The cheapest Macbook is $899 and I just about paid off my credit cards last week so I am reluctant to start again.
