RAM question - DP - 12-06-2007 just added a 1GB stick to my PB G4 1.25 bringing it up to 1.25GB. I bought it with 512 (2x256) and i yanked one to add the gig. A colleague at work said that unless I'm adding a lot of RAM to it then I should yank the 256 as the computer will "dumb down"-his words-to the 256 and run slower than if I were to use just the 1GB. I've never heard of this but I'm no expert, so... Re: RAM question - Dik2 - 12-06-2007 I think your colleague has been "dumbed down". Re: RAM question - bik - 12-06-2007 He's getting confused about the recommendation to use matched pairs in certain computers. PowerBook G4 is not one of those computers. What you've done is fine.
