They're his kids. Why wouldn't you share more with them if you had more? My father didn't share a "dime" with his three kids (may he rest). To this day, I can't stand stinginess.

This includes $2400 per month for equestrian activities and $1400 a month for French and ballet lessons. For that kind of money, they should be able to teach the horse to speak French.

I particularly like this quote from Hillel Chodos, the children's attorney:
"...Maybe they need a yacht like Donald Bren has, maybe a plane like Bren has, maybe they need a house in Newport Beach and in Beverly Hills."
Here's my take - they should be bass-ackwards grateful that they've been getting $17K/month for doing NOTHING, other than being born. I'm certain that there are quite a few other people out there who could find a way to survive on "only" $204K/year.

In most areas of the country, 19 year olds are no longer eligible for child support. Maybe it's time these little pansy-ass kids just grow up and get a JOB!! I have 4 kids from my first marriage and don't get anywhere near $17,000 a YEAR - ridiculous!

Maybe he is teaching his children that suing people is the way to create wealth. They are old enough to have a kind of "boot camp" experience to toughen them up, let them get to know how to be around lawyers, how to manipulate the system.
This much money, that the family has, is mostly theoretical - there is too much to actually spend, it mostly just is in equities and accounts.
If he just GAVE them whatever the wife and her lawyers want, there would be no game.
This way, they get riding lessons everyday, French lessons, and how to be around lawyers lessons. There are probably 6 or 7 lawyers, each billing $800 an hour, maybe up to $1200 an hour.
It does boggle the mind.
