Editing MPG4 Movies??? - Mac-A-Matic - 01-03-2008
I've downloaded some MPG4 movies and I would like to edit them but I am having difficulty importing the files into iMovie.
I would like to import the files and add a soundtrack to them. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

MP4 is designed to be a final presentation format, not an editing one. Don't know what you can do besides converting it to DV (which iMovie will then like) with either QT Pro or Visual Hub.

That's strange as iMove was the only app that I knew of that alows you to edit mpg4.
What difficulty are you having?
When I used it, the problem I had was with quality of the final result. The movies lost half of there sharpness as they got recompressed.

QT Pro can do copy and pastes with mpeg-4s. Moderately time consuming, but if chopping out commercials, or such, not too big of a deal.
