Another Deal or No Deal? iMac Al... - Buzz - 01-03-2008 friend has a line on a 24" 2.4GHz Al iMac w/ 2GB RAM, 320GB HD, wired kb & wireless mouse, Parallels w/ XP Pro & MS Office 2003, iWork, and an iTV that was all purchased mid Sept (has receipt), that he can snag for $1750, and is itchin' to buy it... looking for reassurance that it's a good deal, as he says he has a use for everything in the bundle. personally, I told him it sounded "OK," but didn't qualify as great, or was eligible for RYF status, y/n? Re: Another Deal or No Deal? iMac Al... - davester - 01-03-2008 That same setup brand new would cost $1880 for the computer (assuming aftermarket ram) and $300 for the apple TV plus the software Refurbished of the same thing is $1,610 for the computer and $230 for the apple TV which would be $1,840 plus the cost of software. Is he getting the licensed software or just installed software with no disks? If the former, then you can add about another $200 so it might barely be a deal worth getting... if the latter add zero and fuhgedaboutit. It sounds like a reasonable price if he is getting licensed software but not a fantastic one. Re: Another Deal or No Deal? iMac Al... - anonymouse1 - 01-03-2008 Ditto on Davester Re: Another Deal or No Deal? iMac Al... - Buzz - 01-03-2008 boxes. discs, & licenses w/ the s/w..., plus. FWIW, in state deal so add'l tax savings (sort of, anyway)... I thought seller would be doing better than buyer at that price... we'll see if the phone rings for tech support by tomorrow... I'm sure he'll need help w/ Leopard upgrade, resetting user accounts, etc... |
