Also, I understand why more people DON'T manage these things well. They're very complicated, its hard to find someone you can trust who understands them, and you get the feeling that someone is trying to rip you off at every corner. Oh, and they're dreadfully boring.

I was watching my 401k slip back past the milestone that I defined as becoming an adult. One day I was an adult...the next I was $15,000 behind where I wanted to be. Oh well, time is on my side, right?

Congratulations. I enrolled in the 401k on Sunday. Yeah, I'm feeling a bit old as well. I keep trying to figure out if I can bump up my contribution another 1% and how much the match will be. Sigh...I know it's for the better. I can't wait to see the money pile up though! Wheeee!
