Wind blowing up to 60mph gusts, temperature of 17 right now, feels like -3 (F). Lake effect snow coming in sideways.
Fortunately we're close enough to the lake that most of it is landing a few miles south of us. I'm sure Burton and Chardon have a foot or so already. If we hadn't had all those freeze/thaw cycles, the lake would be frozen a couple of miles out, and then the lake effect snow belt would be .. here !
Coffee is on, Chihuahuas are snuggling in bed with my lovely wife. I might go back there too. For today, plplpl to the great outdoors.

That's not cold - it's Negative 4 here... -4 F, not including any wind chill or 'feels like' consideration.
Was in the 30s yesterday... big swing.
But hey... It's winter, it's supposed to be cold. Supposed to get snow. Last year we had less than 20 inches by this time. This year we're over 60 inches. More like the snow I remember as a kid.

Hmmm. Something tells me that I shouldn't mention the long drive we took in the country yesterday in my top-down convertible. Nope, I think I'll keep that to myself.

We are having our cold snap here in So. CA too ... it's 43 degrees right now; 74 will be the highest for today X(

We had a guy come from central Wisconsin to install a microscope system for us in Austin last week. He enjoyed the 70'F+ days here before going back yesterday to a high of 0'F there today.

It was 45° here yesterday afternoon and I was in the yard picking up sticks and playing with the doggies.
We got the same front as cbelt3 and it was 0° when I was up as 7 a.m. and is only 4° now
with sustained winds of 20~25 mph and 40mph gusts - wind chill is -17° and I'm not complaining.
I don't mind the cold if it would just get cold and stay cold so I can get used to it.

It's a true Minnesota winter day here - bright and sunny, and with a high about 0. The winds are now here, too.
Once it's below zero, cold is cold. Still, I'm not complaining. We've had weeks of near perfect winter weather - 20s and snowy. I prefer light and fluffy precipitation over wet and slimy any day. The coldest day of my life was at an Army/Navy game in Philly, when it was 32 degrees and rained like cats and dogs.

66 and sunny skies here in Central Arkansas. Still about freezing overnight. Our time for bitter cold is coming again, I know.
