Can I use a serial cable with a Macbook running XP? - Microman - 02-10-2008

There is an application that I use on the PC, that requires a serial cable. Is there a connection on the Macbook that could be used? Adapter or something?

Thanks.

there are several brands of USB to serial adapters, I have several at work but I don't remember the brand. We got them with some equipment and I noticed the OS X logo on the box, but we use those device with Dell PCs that have serial ports.

I also remember a while back I had a Keyspan USB-Serial adapter back when I was using a Palm PDA.

Keyspan USB to serial adapters are the gold standard - never had a problem with them. Other brands seem hit or miss.
