I need to erase it before I leave today and cannot seem to locate the original disks.

If the MP is newer than Panther, no. If it's older, probably.

All MacPros are newer than Panther (10.3). The first Intel Macs ran 10.4, and the only way to get an Intel version of 10.4 was from the disks that shipped in the box with the Intel Mac.

Panther was PowerPC only.

But what you probably can do is boot the MacPro in Firewire Target Disk Mode, and connect it to another Mac, and Erase it's hard drive that way.

no other mac here. hence the problem. can you zap the disk with something like f-disk?

Clone to a FW drive , boot into the FW drive & erase internal.

Shut down. Remove the FW drive to desired location.
