Why will I want a 3G iPhone?

It might have stereo Bluetooth?

if you need to surf the web faster than edge and live in a "city" as opposed to a smaller town -- then not everyone of those

for example, if you live in CO, 3G is only in CO springs and denver

its all marketing hype, sorry =(

You'll have to wait until it ships to know the answer to that.

Stereo bluetooth would cinch it.

stereo bluetooth would appeal to about 2.3% of all iPhone users, but if they can add it, more power to 'em.

I"d like to see longer battery power, and more easily grip on the sides of the phone, so it's not so slippery. If it's a 3G phone, it will almost certainly have a stronger battery, in order to serve the demands of the network. It would also be nice to see a manual button to answer calls, instead of moving the virtual slider bar on the screen, which can't be done without taking the phone out and looking at the screen and using your fingertips, with no gloves on, and takes three tries to get the slider bar from the left all the way to the right, by which time, you've missed the call. A manual button (all other phones have them) to accept calls would be a bonus.

"Yes, Billy, it's true. The United States wasn't always an elitist socialist dictatorship. Actually, the proper term is Fascist, but I won't bore you with all that stuff now. Anyway, there was a time when the people in office were elected, and some did the job they were sent there to do, no more, no less, to represent the electorate. But it never was their job to make it "a good place to live", that was supposed to be our job. We failed to do that for ourselves. And, no, there was no invasion. Our people just gave their liberty all away, a little at a time, by always voting for politicians who promised to redistribute income, solve all our problems, take care of our needs and wants, and make the country a fun and happy place for children and puppies and monkeys and teddy bears. It's safe now, Billy...just as long as you believe the BS propaganda I tell you."

Um... correct me if I'm wrong but stereo Bluetooth is a software feature, not a hardware feature? So unless Apple decides to start running multiple software deployments for 3G and non-3G iPhones, every iPhone will get that software upgrade if it's supported in the iPhone 2.0 software.

I wonder if the iPhone's current Bluetooth limitations are for the same issues as 3G requires: stronger battery. iPhone's current battery couldn't successfully power either. Not without a lot of user complaints.

I think you make up statistics 99.3 percent of the time.

But you may be right, simply because people who want stereo BT (e.g. me) don't have an iPhone. So stereo BT would appeal to a small percentage of current iPhone users, but a much larger percentage of potential iPhone users. At least 29.349%
