WTF ?!? iPhone text message comes in seven hours later! - PeterB - 04-14-2008 ... I'm not big into texting, so somebody tell me if this is normal. Person sent me the text (which was of course a bit time-sensitive), it doesn't show up on my iPhone until I just got home (about seven hours later). Re: WTF ?!? iPhone text message comes in seven hours later! - BigGuynRusty - 04-14-2008 Not uncommon. BGnR Re: WTF ?!? iPhone text message comes in seven hours later! - PeterB - 04-14-2008 BGnR, oh, OK ... so I guess it has limited usefulness then ... maybe something to point out to the people who are texting me, they seem to think it is always instantaneous. Yeah, tell them that if it's really important, and since they happen to have a telephone in their hand, maybe a phone call instead of sending a telegram would be a better way to communicate something urgent. I still don't understand the popularity of texting. It's a step backwards in communication technology, to Morse code and telegrams. Smoke signals, anyone? ![]() Re: WTF ?!? iPhone text message comes in seven hours later! - Racer X - 04-14-2008 I get voice messages 12-36 hours after the call was placed, and my phone never rang at that. Sh*t happens. Qwest (Sprint) on a cheap sanyo phone. Did it on my older Kyocera as well. Re: WTF ?!? iPhone text message comes in seven hours later! - SteveO - 04-14-2008 I've had all of the above happen on both Sprint and ATT. Nothing to see here... Re: WTF ?!? iPhone text message comes in seven hours later! - vision63 - 04-14-2008 I text all the time all day long to everyone I know. I like it better than phone calls for most things. I'm on Sprint and in the dozens (more even) of texts that I send and receive I've had about 4 that have been delayed like that (since 1999). It's more common (though rare) that Sprint says it failed to send a message right after I press send.
