HD Cloning Question - graylocks - 06-26-2008 as per my problems with my eMac here: Summary: i tried to downgrade from Tiger to Jaguar and even after resetting my password i can't log into the emacs user account and the general consensus being it's time to nuke and reinstall. and my Back-up recommendation thread here: Summary: i ordered a Neptune drive in order to clone the eMac after nuking i have a question about cloning. i will erase the eMac drive after cloning and do a fresh install of Jaguar. when i clone the clone back over to the eMac, won't i be restoring the same fubared information and be back where i started? obviously not since this is what the forum gods and goddesses have suggested i do. i am missing an essential piece of understanding about what is or isn't being cloned. someone please enlighten me so that i may clone without trepidation.
