Apparently, Palin received first Passport in 2007 - rgG - 09-02-2008 Ms. Palin appears to have traveled very little outside the United States. In July 2007, she had to get a passport before she visited members of the Alaska National Guard stationed in Kuwait, according to her deputy communications director, Sharon Leighow. She also visited wounded troops in Germany during that trip. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/30/us/politics/30veep.html?_r=1&oref=slogin I don't think the Republican's will be bringing up foreign policy experience much during the campaign anymore. I wonder how much traveling to the lower 48 she has done. Alaska is a lot different than the rest of the country, and while I am worried about her lack of foreign experience, how much does she know about the rest of this country. This just keeps getting worse, IMHO. Re: Apparently, Palin received first Passport in 2007 - Acer - 09-02-2008 But can she spell 'potato'? Re: Apparently, Palin received first Passport in 2007 - cbelt3 - 09-02-2008 You guys keep missing the point. She was brought in because she is a woman. Possibly because putting Dick Cheney in drag failed the focus group barf testing. Re: Apparently, Palin received first Passport in 2007 - karsen - 09-02-2008 If she had a passport for 20 years you would have thought higher of her? She's meant to compliment McCain and help fill in some of his weaknesses. McCain has foreign policy covered. Two of the biggest attacks Obama has on McCain are he's out of touch with working America and he doesn't support equal pay for women. Palin helps deflect those attacks. If she had traveled outside the country more than once, I would definitely have thought more highly of her. This is just one more example of how inexperienced she is. McCain could have picked another woman, one that had better credentials. What weakness does she fill other than age? How in touch is she with America? She lives as far away from the rest of America as possible, with the exception of Hawaii. If I knew for a fact that she would not succeed McCain, I probably wouldn't care all that much, but with his age and health record, I am concerned and she is not who I want to see in the White House. Re: Apparently, Palin received first Passport in 2007 - OWC Jamie - 09-02-2008 She didn't live a Summer in Indonesia when she was 10 either. If she was a Democrat the rules would change and Alaska itself wouldd be considered far enough away for foriegn policy experience. How about the moon ? Is that "far enough away" ? If I get on a plane and travel to Jamaica is that now considred foreign policy "experience" ? He's filled out a dress more than a couple times. It's comments like these that scare me a bit. So someone who is vehemently anti-environment, pro-NRA, pro-life, pro-Creationism being taught in schools, is in touch with working America? Yikers. |
