Obscenity isn't the only thing that disturbs some. On Tuesday, another Saudi cleric, Sheik Mohammed Munajjid, said the cartoon character Mickey Mouse should be killed. Munajjid said in an interview with a religious Web site that under Islamic law, rats and mice are considered "repulsive" and as "soldiers of Satan."
"For children they've become something great and beloved. Like this Mickey Mouse, who is seen as a great figure, even though under Islamic law, Mickey Mouse should be killed," said Munajjid, who is a well-known cleric but does not hold a government position.

I find it equally sad that some folks blame all of Islam for the actions of a few. I tried to find any mention in the article where in the Quran it states this (or even in the same neighborhood). I can "see" where it might say rats/mice are repulsive, but not that they are the "soldiers of satan." If anyone has seen the chapter & verse of this, please post it.

It might be in one of the Hadiths.
From Wikipedia:
Hadith (?????? transliteration: al-?ad?th, pl. a?ad?th; lit. "narrative" ) are oral traditions relating to the words and deeds of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Hadith collections are regarded as important tools for determining the Sunnah, or Muslim way of life, by all traditional schools of jurisprudence.

While I have several different translations of the Quran, for some reason I never went searching for a book of the Hadiths. The oral part doesn't bother me as individuals were used back then who had excellent oral memory.
