Now there's a big question as to who called whom first. It'll be interesting to see if it turns out that Obama called McCain first and proposed the trip back to Washington, how all the folks who made pissy comments in the previous thread get to eat their words.

Um. The report I read said that Obama called McCain regarding the idea of making a joint statement about the bill. I see nothing about Obama suggesting they call off the debate, that still seems to be McCain's idea.

I think it is coming out that Obama Called McCain first to make a joint statement which must have frustrated McCain to no end. McCain is always bragging that he reaches across the aisle to work together with the opposition and Obama was the first one to do it. So McCain had to one up him and say he was suspending his campaign for the American people. Leave the presidential campaign out of this mess. Where's the real President to lead us? Hiding in the White House. McCain is always over-reacting.

This is all a ploy to cancel the VP debate, mark my words. They have to keep her scripted and out of the public eye as much as possible or the jig is up.

When the video tapes of her surface, we'll get to see her utter her lines.
