Imaging Resource in Atlanta - DP - 10-31-2008
I am looking to buy a Canon Pro9000 printer and was searching PriceGrabber and this storefront has the lowest price. It has less than ten reviews and there was a review asking them about themselves. This is their response:
"We're just outside Atlanta Georgia. As for returns, we'd really rather not have it back, so please make sure you want it before you order it. By way of explanation, these are printers provided by Canon as prizes for an online photo contest. When the winner is someone outside the US, we sell the printers and send them the money via wire transfer. (It's just *way* too expensive to ship a bulky printer overseas.) So we're not a dealer, set up for handling product exchanges, etc. The printers are brand new, from Canon though, so if there were ever a warrantee issue, we could get it taken care of for you promptly."
Anyone ever deal with them? They want $385 for the printer (includes $20 shipping) and that's a good deal but I'm of the mindset "if it sounds too good to be true..."

Is it these people? http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRESSKIT.HTM Never heard of them, not that that means anything. As long as it's new in the box the warr. should be straight through Canon, you shouldn't need them or any other retailer. Other than that it seems like a rather candid answer, which might be a good sign.
