FishEye distortion Correction SW - Dik2 - 11-26-2008 I need to convert some photos done with a full-frame fisheye, to rectilinear. Tried DeFish from panotools, but all I get is gibberish text when I unstuff the .sit file. Anyone got a link to sw that will work? I'll even run Windows if needed. Re: FishEye distortion Correction SW - Dik2 - 11-26-2008 Images were shot w/ Canon 16mm f2.8 on 20D. I need to match the look of 24mm on 5D. Re: FishEye distortion Correction SW - Dik2 - 11-26-2008 OK, got Stuffit 9, installed DeFish. Trying to understand the instructions, but... Anyone using this SW? Can you tell me steps and settings to convert 16mm 2,8 canon fisheye on 20 D image to equivalent 24mm 5D? Re: FishEye distortion Correction SW - DP - 11-26-2008 I take it you don't have Photoshop? In PS you can got to Filters> Distort> Lens Correction and fix it there. You may have to do some cropping but it sounds like it may not be a big deal if you're trying to mimic a longer lens look. Re: FishEye distortion Correction SW - papercup - 11-26-2008 This is the defacto standard in lens correction software: http://www.dxo.com/intl/photo Its pricey, but you can look to see if your lens is supported & test the trial version ( the software has profiles for most wide & ultra wide lenses to correct curvature. chromatic aberrations, vignetting and such) Really good software. Re: FishEye distortion Correction SW - Dik2 - 11-26-2008 Thanks, I managed throu trial and error to come up with a 300% setting that does the job. I tried lens correction in PsCS3, even at max it was not strong enough. Tried repeated applications of the filter and 3 of them started to get there but I wanted a better way. DeFish does batches, too. |
