TDK DVD-R blanks are Imation? My BF Office Max deal.... - Racer X - 12-04-2008 I was reading the shrink-wrap, and they are actually labeled Imation under manufacturer and address. TDK disks on the top surface, with TDK shrink-wrap, but the area where the manufacturer and country of origin say Imation and give Imations corp. address. Never seen this before. maybe I should get the Sony ones on sale at Costco this month, and return these in-store. I know some manufacturers farm stuff out, or buy lots and market the disks themselves, but this is weird. Imation was good in the late 90s and early this century. They were actually TY back when they were just CD-Rs. Nowadays, I'm not so sure. At I suppose I could crack a spindle open and check the disk ID with dvdmediainspector. Re: TDK DVD-R blanks are Imation? Probably China, or India. Neither are bad, but definitely if you bought multiple spindles burn a few discs, and verify them in your players before you're outside your return window. Re: TDK DVD-R blanks are Imation? My BF Office Max deal.... - Bimwad - 12-04-2008 Imation made a deal to use TDK's blank media branding early last year. They also own Memorex outright and sell media under the HP and IBM brands. That guide was always the Cliffs Notes of media.
