How to Best Manage PDF Files? - steveroberts - 12-08-2008

Friends,

I've got thousands of PDF files stored in folders on my hard drive. I do not need them often, but sometimes I need to find something that is buried inside one of the files by searching the file content.

I've tried YEP, and it seems to do what I need, but before purchasing, I was wondering about your experience with this and competing applications designed for this purpose.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

SR

i thought spotlight could search the content of pdf files. (maybe you need something more complex?)

I use Yep and Leap both, but not too heavily. I like them. Yep focuses just on PDF and has a cleaner interface, but Leap is more powerful and can manage all types of files. There is some overlap in functionality.
