I think anyone who is willing to take on the presidency right now is either terribly brave, or terribly nuts. (
) (I know, I know, I'm leaving the door open for all of the Obama haters here) It seems an impossible task, asking for fixes and solutions that may be unattainable by mere mortals.

In all seriousness and with bickering aside - I do believe that any person who would step into this mess is really taking on something that I cannot imagine; with foes on every side, many battles ahead of you, and with everyone looking to blame and point fingers when it all doesn't go just perfectly. It's an impossible task we set for them - to see into the future, make all the right moves, and make all of our dreams come true. When they falter, like any human will do, we hate and vilify them. It's really a no win situation. It would be so much easier to stay in a cushy attorney's office and just carry on with their own life, and not take on the troubles of the country and the world. Hats off to them for trying. It's more than I would have the stomach for.

i concur but I'll add this:
and, although, the pressures are a bit different in that military does not come into play, many elected officials across the country (and the world) face much this same dilemma every day. it's difficult to understand the pressure these people face unless they are right there with them. the mayor or town manager who faces the unenviable task of cutting emergency personnel vs. teachers vs. elderly programs vs. library hours vs. bridge repair vs. utility upgrades vs. just about everything. that is why when I hear people bash the government, they really sound like they're talking out of their ass.
