Bush bails out............again - mikeylikesit - 12-19-2008

... the big two. "Let the next generation worry about it" he says.

Mr. Bush made his announcement a week after Senate Republicans blocked legislation to aid the automakers that had been negotiated by the White House and Congressional Democrats, and the loan package announced by the president includes roughly the identical requirements in that bill, which had been approved by the House. wrote:

But they did get rid of the corporate jets. These monkeys in the White House have no idea what they're doing, do they? (btw: I think a bailout was necessary I just don't think these jokers have a clue how to make one actually work)

edit: to keep Guttey thrice as happy.

How fitting that Bush made the announcement in front of a portrait of Teddy Roosevelt--on horseback.

Bonuses. You wouldn't want the entire economy of the Hamptons to collapse, would you?

Once again, it is not a bailout. It's a loan with conditions. A big part of this issue is the banks who were given the money to loan AREN'T loaning it! They're buying other banks and paying bonuses. You aren't angry about that? Tell Paulson to get off his a•• and tell the banks to loan the money!
And what was the best selling vehicles in the US this year? The F-150 and Silverado. Detroit is building what consumers want. Also, check Toyota's fuel consumption numbers for its fleet. You may be surprised...

Have you got his number? I need the one that rings directly on his desk.

Like any of us at MR forums has any say in the matter. All we get to do is complain about these A-holes. Nothing more...

I truly believe there are people out there cheering for another great depression. It will be another chance for the filthy rich to become....MORE FILTHY!:villagers:

(not to mention being able to get rid of those pesky union folk once and for all)

That's one interpretation. Some would say consumers are told what they want through advertising and like the lemmings they are, will rush out and buy something they don't need nor really want.

Detroit certainly isn't in the habit of building anything I'd want. Well, at least not for 50+ years.
