OMG BSG *&%$@_(^& - freeradical - 01-24-2009 Ha, there, I've said it. I can't think of any good reason to watch any of the remaining episodes. Re: OMG BSG *&%$@_(^& - Carthaigh - 01-24-2009 And to think I was looking forward to watching it this week. Complete frakking crap. Re: OMG BSG *&%$@_(^& - Doc - 01-24-2009 Not complete crap. The stupid vampire show that ran before it... THAT was complete crap. Re: OMG BSG *&%$@_(^& - Biff Lugnut - 01-24-2009 I didn't think it was crap, but it was another table setting episode, ostensibly for things to come. Thing is, they're running out of time. No way have they resolved all the table settings by the end of the season. Re: OMG BSG *&%$@_(^& - Black Landlord - 01-24-2009 I also hate when they drag the story line back into that political muck. It would be about 30% more bearable if Zarek didn't have such a horrible haircut. Is it supposed to look like a toupé? Re: OMG BSG *&%$@_(^& - Mike Sellers - 01-24-2009
Senior sex with Adama and Roslyn! I was wondering if they were going to do the nasty.
But, kind of a treading water episode. Not as bad as Smallville though. Last week's episode with The Legion of Superheroes was a lot of fun. This past week, a real head scratcher. Exposing bad cops? Doomsday is out to destroy the world and bad cops is all they can come up with? Sheeesh!! Re: OMG BSG *&%$@_(^& - estnyc - 01-24-2009 At least we got to see a bit of Six, but Balthar has pretty much gone from being a complicated and fascinating character to a nebbish. Remember, the Balthar from the original series was the humans' nemesis, with his own Cylons and base stars and whatnot. It seemed for the first couple of seasons that Head Six was grooming Balthar to have some glorious future as a Cylon leader, anti-Christ, or father of his country. I was half hoping that after his pep-talk to the Centurian at the end of the last season they'd be a Revolt of the Toasters and they'd put him in charge of everything. It might still happen, I suppose. But that whole line seems to have been unceremoniously dumped in favor of the "final five" one. I'm getting to the point where I couldn't give a frack who the fifth Cylon is.
While I sometimes enjoy the curves the writers keep throwing at us, the whole "he's-not-the-father" thing seems like a cheap trick they pulled out of their asses just to tweak our noses.
The writing is making me think of the immortal words of Mickey Spillane. He'd shared some rough chapters of an in-progress book with a friend, who asked him what was going to happen next. Spillane's priceless answer: "I don't know. The typewriter broke." Oh, yeah, that Smallville was just dreadful. I did love the Legion one -- who knew the brooding hipster look would still be big in a thousand years? I'm sticking with Smallville because it has some hot women, and the payoff of the whole series will be when he puts on the cape and flies away... Re: OMG BSG *&%$@_(^& - AllGold - 01-24-2009 I wouldn't go so far as to say I won't watch anymore, but yeah, that was awful. Seems like the writers had about 8 minutes of material for a 44 minute episode. Re: OMG BSG *&%$@_(^& - Will Collier - 01-24-2009 They're still trying to cram about three hours of actual story into 20 episodes. Re: OMG BSG *&%$@_(^& - Dick Moore - 01-24-2009 Yeah, those crummy writers, they've got you all feeling like all the people in the fleet are feeling -- depressed, not sure if they want to go on, nobody knows anything for sure, getting up to a mutiny -- yeah, those crummy writers, they can't write their way out of a paper bag .... |
