Which movie to watch? - wurm - 01-25-2009

I realize it's a bit of apples vs oranges, but these are tonight's choices if you would indulge me.

Re: Which movie to watch? - Will Collier - 01-25-2009

Garden State is okay. I've never been bored enough to try and watch the Vice movie.

Re: Which movie to watch? - bazookaman - 01-25-2009

If I HAD to choose one I would pick Garden State. I didn't much like it, but it was a sh!t ton better than Miami Vice.

Our choices for the weekend:
Scary Movie 3 Full Screen
Birth
An American Carol
Fremonition

You know I am going for the SM3 and AAC!

Re: Which movie to watch? - GeneL - 01-25-2009

I'm surprised that "The Last Templar" with Mira Sorvino, Victor Garber, Scott Foley and Omar Sharif wasn't mentioned.

Sunday and Monday at 9 PM on NBC.

Re: Which movie to watch? - $tevie - 01-25-2009

I was disappointed by Garden State, I guess because I had such high hopes for it. I would rather watch The Squid and The Whale or Lost in Translation if I want to get depressed during an indie film.

As for Miami Vice, I'd go with the Wii golf instead. Or just about anything. It sounds like a drag.

Re: Which movie to watch? - Seacrest - 01-25-2009

I grew up in Jersey, and I really hated 'Garden State', or rather was indifferent toward it.

So I voted for 'Vice' by default, and because Mike Mann's worst movies are always gonna be better than Zach Braff's best.

Garden State was a waste of time.
Don't know the other one.

Re: Which movie to watch? - wurm - 01-25-2009

I ended up watching Garden State. I actually enjoyed it. Not exactly an uplifting movie, but I thought it was well done. Props to Graff for writing and directing in addition to starring in it.

If you want a good Michael Mann movie, try Collateral.
