iMac invisible to other computers on network - graylocks - 01-25-2009 my son's iMac (Leopard) is connected wirelessly to my home network yet, it can only see and be seen by the eMac (Panther) and my iBook (Tiger). it cannot see or be seen by my main computer, the Mac Mini (Tiger) and i can't figure out why. any thoughts? Re: iMac invisible to other computers on network - BigGuynRusty - 01-25-2009 Sharing? Is it on? BGnR Re: iMac invisible to other computers on network - GGD - 01-25-2009 Can the Mini see and be seen by the eMac and iBook? I'm wondering if you have two routers, and the Mini is on a different LAN. Jeff only one router. no other network in range and the iMac shows it's on our network. also, the iMac prints to the brother which is on our network so the iMac is definitely connected. the iMac CAN communicate with the eMac and the laptop. i am missing some setting somewhere that is preventing the iMac and the Mac Mini from connecting. Re: iMac invisible to other computers on network - Doc - 01-25-2009 All of them in the same IP address range? Only the last 3 digits of the IP address are different on each Mac? Can you connect to the iMac using its IP address in the Connect to Server dialog from the Finder? Re: iMac invisible to other computers on network - graylocks - 01-25-2009 very odd. now, suddenly, the iMac is visible and i haven't changed anything from my attempts earlier in the day. maybe it was jess messin' wit my head...
