As many of you know, Swampy has been diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer. She has started her tests and now has a caringbridge webpage. I found the link in the last post in her previous thread and thought it should be posted in a new sticky for a while, because people might miss it in the older thread. Below is the link, and I have copied Swampy's last entry from the old thread:

Caringbridge is perfect for this. http://www.caringbridge.org/

Thanks, Pam... My sister has set up a page for me there and we will be posting in the guest book area so everyone can join the party!

CaringBridge Just click the "Guest Book" from there.

I've already posted the events of Thursday and Friday. Three of my sisters attended every exam, test or consultation and we laughed and joked with all the staff, doctors and elevator operators. Even the Parking Valet!!!

My doctor gave me an overview of the whole process and even discussed prosthetic bras with me. Did you know they stuff them with things like bird seed or BUCKSHOT????? I told him right up front that at my age I wanted "perky ones" and a note from him to get me through airport security!

All sisters helping me check into radiology and one of the questions the computer lady asked was "Religion"? I said Christian, one sister said Catholic, another sister said Jewish, and another said Hindu (which got us all giggling), but explained to the dower lady behind the counter... Hey, were touching ALL bases at this point. She broke out laughing with us.

I won't tell you what I hollered out the car window as we passed HOOTERS on the way to get prescriptions filled. I was so bad!!

I had a little surgery yesterday (Friday) and they did the biopsies and inserted the port (for injecting drugs, chemo etc. or drawing blood). For those who know me and know I hate to take even an aspirin, I have discovered Xanax and Vicodan!!! Whoopie... Now I have an excuse for all my typos!

Thanks again for all your prayers and good wishes. You guys have lifted my spirits and I really appreciate that.

hugs...dee dee

Shouldn't this also be posted on the "other side"?

Re: Link to Swampy's caringbridge webpage - RgrF - 03-22-2009

Give the link to everyone and let them do what they will, this isn't a memorial and swampy has no problem taking care of herself.

I thought about that, but since Swampy only posted her thread here, I was reluctant to do so. If Swampy would like it to be posted to the other side, please let me know.

Thanks for the sticky!! Here is fine. I do post on the other side from time to time, but here is where my friends are.

hugs...

Hey swampy, Just a heads up about caringbridge. You and your family should be posting in the journal section for everyone to read. Then we can leave messages in the guestbook for you.

Good luck with all your tests. I have 2 sisters with BC One just had a mastectomy 2 weeks ago. So stay strong. Everyday is a gift no matter who we are.

From a Lib to a Con:-)

Thanks, Kanesa... My sister set the site up for me and forgot to give me the "author's account info" so I could update the journal. Got it going no and am using the guest book side for message back and forth. I wanted to kind of keep the journal for just the medical progress.

It is a wonderful site for letting everyone join in. :oldfogey:

All the best to you Swampy!

i appreciate your conservative posts on this side as a long
time lurker and occasional poster...

i dont even bother posting sometime due to the heavy
left leanings of peeps here, but its refreshing to see
you take the high ground when others tend to take to the low
road...

again, hoping the best for you!
