How do you turn off the Brain Damaged "Genius" in iTunes? - Harbourmaster - 03-22-2009 The damn thing takes forever to "transmit data to Apple" every time I start iTunes and I have had enough of it. Can't find any way to turn this annoying feature off in the menus, so I'm asking for help! Yes, it takes a long freaking time the first time (On my G4 with our umptygazillion song library it took, oh, a whole DAY) but the recommendations have actually been to my taste in many cases.
