Getting iPhoto to automatically detect new photos in the iPhone - tuqqer - 04-05-2009

When I plug my iPhone into my Mac in the office, any new iPhone photos will trigger a window asking if I want to download these to my Mac's iPhoto. This is good.

But when I do the same thing with my traveling MacBook, plugging in the iPhone doesn't trigger that window and question automatically. I have to manually open iPhoto.

Is there some setting that I've overlooked that would do this automatically on my MacBook?

In Applications, look for "Image Capture." Launch it, and there is an option as to what to do when a digital camera is connected. Perhaps that's the issue.

it's a setting in iPhoto.
Prefs/General. Open iPhoto when connecting a camera.
iPhoto will see the iPhone as a camera if this setting is clicked.
