Help with .jar files - applepwns - 04-06-2009 They don't work! Do I need to download something? Re: Help with .jar files - Seacrest - 04-06-2009 Depends. .jar files are java archives. Sometimes they are executable, sometimes just containers for code or other resources. Sometimes they can be run via /Applications/Utilities/Java/Applet Launcher. Sometimes they go into /Library/Java/Extensions so you can run other code that depends on the code in the jar.
