Will Just & Fair® eBay still refund my listing fee? - Psurfer - 04-10-2009 My non-paying winning bidder reimbursed me for my listing fee via Paypal, and left me positive feedback on the "transaction". Will eBay still credit me the listing fees after I go through their non-paying bidder boogey? Re: Will Just & Fair® eBay still refund my listing fee? - Gareth - 04-10-2009 I would think so, but if the buyer reimbursed you and left positive feedback, then it's kind of mean to file a non-paying bidder (even though I was the one who said I file against all non-paying bidders, I wouldn't in this case). Re: Will Just & Fair® eBay still refund my listing fee? - richorlin - 04-10-2009 If he paid your listing fee then let it go. Re: Will Just & Fair® eBay still refund my listing fee? - hal - 04-10-2009 Don't be a %&$&$)%^$*! sorry, but what you suggest is really, really unfair to the buyer. Re: Will Just & Fair® eBay still refund my listing fee? - Psurfer - 04-10-2009 To be clear, I discussed doing this w/the buyer, who agreed. Re: Will Just & Fair® eBay still refund my listing fee? - Gareth - 04-10-2009 You can mutually close the non-paying bidder report (assuming the buyer tells eBay they agree) in which case you will receive your Final Value Fee (not the listing fee) back and the bidder will not receive an unpaid item strike. Though if the buyer paid you the FVF, that just seems fraudulent, unless you plan to refund the buyer once eBay refunds you. Re: Will Just & Fair® eBay still refund my listing fee? - hal - 04-10-2009 This is a little confusing... the buyer must really be a newbie... Re: Will Just & Fair® eBay still refund my listing fee? - Psurfer - 04-10-2009 That's what I needed, Gareth. It's the Final Value Fee I'm looking to get credited -which eBay did not earn. Thanks. Re: Will Just & Fair® eBay still refund my listing fee? - Psurfer - 04-16-2009 (follow-up- if anyone ever reads this...) Here's what I was really trying to do, just didn't know what to call it: I emailed eBay about how to get their final value fee canceled, without causing any harm or trouble to the (non-)buyer. The answer was for both of us to agree to offically cancel the transaction. I discussed the plan w/the nonbuyer who had no problem w/it. Took 1 min of my time to do the form, even less for nonbuyer to respond by clicking in agreement. No harm, no foul, no fraud. And no reason to pay eBay for a sale that wasn't. The buyer had been happy to reimburse me for my time wasted -I replied to a Lot of questions from him during the week of the auction, and lost a potentially costly week to sell the item that had it's remaining warranty period ending in the following week. -Fortunately after all the above, I sold it locally on CL quickly, which is what I should have done in the first place. |
