AirDisk Madness - RAMd®d - 06-01-2009

I've got a 320G HD hooked to my AirPort Extreme Base Station. It was attached to my mini as extra storage, then later moved to the AEBS.

I can access all the files on the AirDisk. I can drop small files like jpegs on it and they show up as they should.

I've tried dropping an 118MB folder of U2 songs from Amazon (DRM free). It appears to copy fine, the Copying to... dialog comes and goes as expected, but the folder doesn't show up.

If I copy it again, I get the Cancel/Replace window, saying A folder named U2 already exists... Still no joy.

A Get Info on the drive shows:

Sharing & Permissions
-You have custom access

Name . . . . . . . . . . . . Privilege
(unknown) . . . . . . . Read & Write
everyone . . . . . . . . Access

Any ideas?

I usually use Get Info>Ignore Ownership on external drives, but it's unlikely that this is your problem. Have you run Disk Utility on it? If you connect directly can you see the files?

Also, how is it formatted?

Re: AirDisk Madness - RAMd®d - 06-02-2009

Hm, I don't remember how it's formatted. I'll have to check that out.

And so far, I can't get Disk Utility or Disk Warrior to see the AirDisk. I'll try from my G5 iMac since it's hardwired to the router.
