erecting new pool house with toilet - plumbing and electrical tips wanted - kandrewp - 06-08-2009 I plan to build my own pool house with toilet. I am tapping into an existing sewer line coming from the back of my house. I have mapped out the yard for excavation and new line. I am planning to run electrical from my garage (100 feet). Any tips on connecting my sewer line? Do I need a vent in my pool house for one toilet (I plan to have roofing ventilation). Any tips on running the electricals? Re: erecting new pool house with toilet - plumbing and electrical tips wanted - macphanatic - 06-08-2009 If you're asking these questions, you should probably hire professionals to do the utilities. Re: erecting new pool house with toilet - plumbing and electrical tips wanted - Carm - 06-08-2009 Yup. Work with an architect to design it. Get a general contractor. Joe Re: erecting new pool house with toilet - plumbing and electrical tips wanted - Ken Sp. - 06-08-2009 The drop or incline of the sewer line is critical---I used to think the steeper the better, but it is important that it isn't too sleep. so the solids will flow with the liquids. If you have a big drop--you use elbows and make a vertical drop. There is the old Plumbers remark---S#!t don't flow uphill, and that will be $100 for the service call. Re: erecting new pool house with toilet - plumbing and electrical tips wanted - Fred_Also - 06-08-2009 It depends on if you have to have it inspected or not. If you do, find out what the code requires or you will be re-doing it. You will need a vent (if you want it to flush). The electrical I would run in the gray PVC electrical tubing. Size will depend on load (what are you going to put in it?). Plumber's rules; 1. S--t flows down hill 2. Payday is Friday 3. Don't bite your nails Fred Also Re: erecting new pool house with toilet - plumbing and electrical tips wanted - Plumbking - 06-08-2009 3" sewer line minimum. Sewer grades to street 1/4 per foot. Minimum and maximum. For a 100' run thats 25" of grade. Is your point of connection (your house sewer lateral) approximately 3' deep? As far as pool house suggestions I would put in an outside shower, and a wet bar. Good Luck |
