She has everything in it but a kitchen sink. Her purse suffices as a weapon!

IF it's like my spouse, your purse has a black lining and most of your gadgets are black as well . . .

Me either. (My "man purse", which is my work laptop backpack). So i picked up a few zippered fabric cases of different sizes and stack stuff in them. Computer gizmos in one, ipod and cell phone gizmos in another, Checkbook, medicines, and first aid kit in another . Yes, first aid kit. I'm accident prone, and go through boxes of bandaids the way most people go candy.
My wife goes for the Laura Ashley purses with all the little zippered cases. Bags with tons of little zippered compartments drive me bats- I never know where I stashed some gizmo and end up unzipping and zipping like a Biker's strip club.

It's basically a large fabric bag. Polka dots on the outside, dark brown fabric on the inside. Everything I want ends up underneath everything else somehow, even if it's the last thing I threw in there.
If I designed purses, they would have light color interiors, for sure! (and maybe a little light that comes on. LOL)

I've seen those advertised and I almost like the idea, but that's in theory. In practice, I'm afraid my mileage would vary.
