BlueHost or HostGator? - Harbourmaster - 07-31-2009

I'm looking to set up a couple of sites with a blog and possibly some e-commerce.

Looking for opinions on these two hosting companies and if anybody has a referral or coupon code would appreciate that as well

I've not used Bluehost, but I have had sites with Hostgator for the past 7 years. They're one of the biggest, offer good service and at reasonably affordable rates. They're a solid host and aren't going anywhere.

That being said, I've switched my personal domain to a different host because I was looking for a smaller company feel, and I also found a coupon code back when I was thinking about switching. A2Hosting http://www.a2hosting.com/ they've got some great discounts going on now for the month of august. If you want to sign up with them, PM me, and I'll send you a referral link. Unfortunately, I think that would only benefit me :-)

I've been with HG for a couple of years now and have been satisfied.

Very happy with Bluehost for a few sites.

I have had a few sites hosted at Hostgator for about four years. No problems...they definitely meet the 99% uptime guarantee. Coupons for Hostgator are easily available via Google searches.
