Freak drill accident - DaviDC. - 07-31-2009

I stabbed the pad of my left middle finger when the phillips bit slipped off the screw I was attempting to drive into place.

Ohmigod the pain! It made a very nasty looking wound & caused me to say words I hadn't said in a long time. To make matters worse, I was working with a guy who doesn't cuss because he thinks that's unnecessary. Believe me, it was totally necessary today.

I squeezed it until it bled freely, washed it out with peroxide then applied a dab of Neosporen & a band-aid. I'll go to the doctor if red streaks appear on my hand & arm.

Ouchies. I bet it look like hamburger.

A friend of mine swears by superglue in lieu of stitches.

If you feel the need to justify your actions, you can send your non-swearing friend this link...

Better a phillips bit than an actual drill bit I should think.

Done it...

And profanity is COMPLETELY necessary in that situation!

Ice it for a while to try to keep the swelling down, and the trobbing!

And your knee had just healed!! Do you have a death wish? You need to be more careful, because we just can't afford to lose you. Sad

Re: Freak drill accident - Jimmypoo - 07-31-2009

So what is it about the drill that makes you consider it "a freak" vs. one that is "normal?"

Or are you unnecessarily projecting these feelings of deformity upon a totally normal and innocent
drill - that may one day, stunt the drill's own ability to grow and tackle bigger projects?

Until this moment, I had considered you to be more sensitive to the needs of others, but I see now
that this may not be true, which is truly unfortunate, but not completely unexpected, considering
your roots as an Alabama freakozoid!

In addition to profanity, I believe that throwing and kicking inanimate objects is also called for. Be careful though, I chipped a front tooth when I angrily threw some pliers to the ground only to have them fly up and whack me in the mouth.
