MacPro to G4, shares won't mount. - Spock - 08-01-2009
I can't get my MacPro 10.5.7 to connect to shares on my G4 MDD 10.4.11 on my local network. Each time I try I get a "Connection Failed" message saying " There was an error connecting to the server. Check server name or IP address and try again". I've checked and checked again and the name and IP address are correct. It worked up to yesterday but not now. Tried logging out and back, restarting and using another user account and the result was the same. File sharing is enabled.
I can get the G4 MDD to connect to the MacPro and transfer files across so its not the physical connection. From the MacPro I can see shares on another G4 that I booted up to test so its only the MDD that won't mount.
Could it be a corrupt .plist or a cache that needs flushing. Anyone got any ideas.

OK, I solved the problem by restarting the G4 MDD, go figure.
